First, I seldom take the time to write reviews and if I do they are generally not the result of a positive experience.
Our house was built in 1967 and the bathrooms had little or no updates since then. We needed all 3 bathrooms remodeled ( Master, Guest & our kid’s bath). After reviewing Yelp and Google reviews on several companies in our area I reached out to three of them for estimates. The estimates were all within a couple thousand dollars of each other and I ended up going with Palatin Remodeling based their customer reviews and the fact that they had been in business here for decades. In addition to the quality of the work, my other concern was how long it was going to take. Gil Palatin said he needed about 2 months but also depended upon how long we took to make our material selections, etc. Well get this, they started the demo of the first bathroom on August 3rd and they had all three completed with final inspection sign-off by September 17th. That’s 45 days for three bathrooms start to finish! So in order to keep this as short as possible I will give you a quick list of bullet points to summarize my experience with Gil Palatin and his team at Palatin Remodeling:
– Careful, they took steps to protect the flooring in my home by covering the pathways to the bathrooms from start to finish.
– Great communication, Gil made sure I always knew what the plan was and who would be at our home doing what the next day.
– Quality, the workmanship was excellent. If we ever had a concern about how something looked Gil and his guys was very attentive.
– Clean, let’s face it, it’s a messy project and it can be hard but they did a great job trying to minimize the mess and cleaned up each day.
– Flexible, during the process you may change your mind or want to add something and Gil was very accommodating and quick to incorporate the changes.
– Reasonable. It’s inherent during an project like this that you are going to encounter unforeseen issues and I’m the first to admit that I can be difficult. When issues did arise, Gil was very pragmatic and professional and ensured they were resolved to my satisfaction.
– In short, Gil Palatin told me what he was going to do and how much it was going to cost when he tendered the estimate and after signing with him he did exactly that. During the process if I added anything to the scope that increased cost he was straight forward and completely reasonable. I was not “nickel and dimed” and there were no surprises on the final invoice.
My wife are very happy with our experience with Palatin Remodeling and recommend them to anyone looking to remodel their home.

I needed full remodels of all the bathrooms in my house. They were all stuck in 1984, and in horrible shape. I sourced 5 quotes from reputable contractors with great reviews, Gil being one of them. Gil was responsive and his overall explanation of the remodel, what needed to be done and the price estimate were excellent. I had Gil do all the work. He responded to calls and texts almost immediately and was on top of all the work, timeline and permitting. The bathrooms are now completed and have been for a few weeks, the workmanship is excellent and the finished product better than I imagined. I recommend him highly!!!!

As they put the finishing touches on my bathroom, I am writing this review about what started as a journey to find a contractor that was trustworthy and knowledgeable because I have had no experience in doing any remodels in the past. I was afraid I would find someone who would take advantage of that lack of knowledge. But then i came upon Palatin Remodeling thanks to Angie’s Lists and read the reviews and took a chance. From first meeting with Gil, I knew I was going to be OK. He knew exactly how to articulate how it would look and the costs and was totally fair and open with me regarding what it would take to get this done. I was taking a old bathroom with a small standard shower that because of being a big guy i was unable to use very well and turned it into a dream bathroom custom fit to me and my needs. In fact, that seemed to go behind their thoughts on everything that went into that bathroom which was nice to know they cared beyond it just being another job. Through the whole process they were available for any questions at any time of the day and always got back to me with answers. Everyone on the crew from Gil to his foreman Ray and all the people working on a daily basis were so kind and nice. I don’t want to sound so mushy but i seriously became friends with all of them and it is going to be hard to see them go at the end of this 4 week process. I am already asking them for estimates on new projects around the house and trying to save the money to get them back because their work and professionalism is incredible. I would highly recommend them for any work you have from the smallest things you have to pet projects, to whole home remodels. These guys put their heart into it and know what they are doing very well. Thanks again, Palatin Remodeling, for an awesome experience. Can’t wait til we get to work together in the future!

When the City of Los Angeles demanded that I put fans into the bathrooms of my rental units, I knew I’d need some help– ok, I’d need lots of help, since I’m about as handy around the house as a sack of hair. So I found Palatin Remodeling here on Angie’s lists, and called for an estimate… Gil came to the house and checked out everything, emailed me the written estimate, and after checking out two other companies, I decided to go with Palatin Remodeling.
That was the right decision. The work was done quickly and correctly, and when there were some last-minute hiccups synchronizing the Los Angeles Housing Department and the Los Angeles Building Department, Gil was on top of everything and made sure everything was resolved perfectly.
Here are my top 3 favorite things about the experience:
1. Gil is a nice, smart guy who clearly knows what he’s talking about, and he’s also not afraid of text messages and email. I hate working with service providers who don’t use modern technology!
2. Gil’s crew was fantastic and QUICK– I was told the work would take a day and a half but the guys just put in one very long day and got it all done. Definitely a big plus. They also went above and beyond when doing the final touch-up paint in one bathrooom, which was a nice surprise.
3. They did everything from pulling permits to patching the plaster and repainting the walls so it would look flawless. This is HUGE for me– I am not a handyperson and I always think it’s weird when contractors say “oh, we’ll do all the work but you’ll need to call a plaster guy to close the wall and then paint it yourself.” I’m like, w**? I can’t do all that. That’s WHY I’m calling someone for help! Gil made sure EVERYTHING was handled, so my house was delivered back to me not only with the work completed perfectly but also with all holes patched and painted and looking like new. Exactly what I wanted.
Bottom line, definitely recommend Palatin remodeling (and Gil inparticular) for your home remodeling.

I got the pleasure of working with Gil and his crew from Palatin Remodeling to remodel the kitchen of my first home. Start to finish, from responding to my request for a quote to installing the last cabinet door handle, Gil was professional, courteous, responsive, mindful, punctual, accountable, and the list goes on. In one sentence, Gil is one of best contractors one can ever work with. I should also mention that ‘s Palatin Remodeling pricing is very competitive.
Planning — Gil was extremely mindful of my needs and requirements, especially with budgeting concerns. After giving
several pointers on how I could keep costs down without sacrificing too much on quality and looks, I decided to have Gil help me demo the old kitchen, and install a new kitchen.
Palatin’s bid was very competitive. I had one other close bid to consider, also professional and received rave reviews, but it was Gil’s responsiveness, professionalism, and patience with my inquiries that won me over.
Gil also offered a few creative ideas, regarding some of the strange plumbing that I had going on. Being that
budget did not allow for re-plumbing, Gil respected my decision and was able to work around these nuances.
Installation –Gil and his crew was punctual
on all three days for demo and installation. They brought their own blankets to layout over the floor, thereby protecting my newly installed flooring. Gil was very proficient in installing the kitchen, taking him and his crew a little over a day for 14 boxes and butcher-block countertop.
At the end of the day, the crew busted out thier brooms and swept the floor before heading home.
I also appreciate this attention to detail: he was able to align all the doors and drawers, save for one stubborn door, and
the placement of the handles were right where I wanted them.
No doubt about it, hands down, 5 solid stars!
I look forward to the day I can call Gil out for another project, or refer him to a friend or family.

I can’t say enough nice things about Gil with Palatin Remodeling.
I hired Gil through a friend’s recommendation and am so glad I did.
To make my rear deck safer, he and his assistant repaired and replaced a lot of the substructure on the deck, due to rot & mold & termite damage/decay, and some renewing in the house.
He came out initially to inspect and give me an estimate, and we agreed upon the work, the price and time frame.
Punctual: he always showed up on time, when he said he would, and called the one time he was going to be late. They worked long and full days. The work took as long as he said it would, no longer.
Honest: He showed me anything along the way that was going to be done. I felt completely comfortable with his skills and ability to do the work.
I also felt completely comfortable leaving him here alone, and giving him the garage keys. He is completely trustworthy.
Pricing: he is fair and competitively priced, and well worth your money.
Communication: could not have been clearer, his understanding of construction and process is extensive.
Neat: he and his assistant swept and cleaned up the work site after every single day they were here, put their tools away in the neatest arrangements I have ever seen.
Quality: superb carpentry and construction.
Overall: whether you have a small job (he even planed down my front door which had been sticking and needed adjustment), or large (building decks and remodeling), Gil is such a nice person, with such a clear communication style and honest business practice, I don’t think you’ll find a better contractor to do your work.
I will definitely use him again.

We were doing some renovation work to our newly purchased condo. Asked a couple of contractors for estimates. We liked Gil’s professionalism and candid strong bid. Some other estimates we’ve got were just crazy… To be honest, we like Gil the first time he came to the unit to discuss our agenda and to-do lists. The way he conducted himself and walked around the unit to assess the work streams made us feel that he actually knows what he is doing and is trustworthy.
Once we decided to go with Palatin Remodeling, Gil was all over it. We had a very tight timeline because we needed to move in within 2-3 weeks. We remodeled our fireplace, tore down mirror walls, installed recessed lightings throughout the unit, removed a built-in tv shelf and a built-in wet bar, adding backsplashes in the kitchen and built a new built-in book shelf. Gil and his team worked very hard to make sure we could have things done on time for a neat move-in.
What’s more impressive is that he went out of his way to take of care my extra add-on requests like replacing door knobs, fixing window screens, adding magnets, replacing all electric outlets, etc. He did everything he could to help us cut down the cost (fixing the window screen for no cost for example instead of replacing it with a new one), and when he did need to bill for additional work, his quote was very reasonable.
Gil was also super patient and wanted to make sure we are happy with the end result. By the end of the process, we were struggling where to put the tv box because we really don’t want to have anything in front of or above our fireplace except the tv. We ended up tearing the wall open again after finishing it, re-wiring the outlets, building a little shelf on the side for cable box and having only tv on top of the fire place. A lot more work than originally expected, but Gil and his electrician, handyman and painter did everything we wanted without hesitation! That was very impressive.
Anyway, without you and your team, Gil, we would not have seen such a perfectly executed renovation project! We absolutely love the end result! Loving it every day…
If you are thinking of doing some renovation or remodeling work, give these guys a call. They are honest, reliable, and professional. They care about what you like. They care about keeping your budget down. AND they are proud of what they are doing. Remodeling could be very stressful, but working with someone who is responsible, responsive and passionate would make it easier to handle and more fun. I will go back to them again if I have future projects down the road!

Not having ever been involved in remodeling before, I definitely needed some hand holding through the process. The decision became easier since I’ve meat Gil and his crew, I totally trust their thoughts and ideas.
The process was just as it was sold. I signed up for a full kitchen a in June/July, and by the end of august it was all complete. It took about 4 weeks total for the work to be done from demo to completion. My floors were covered each day, they vacuumed each day, and I trusted each one of their workers in my home the times when I could not be there.
If there was any question about the specifics of the work to be done, no one hesitated to ask me – they do want to make you happy and want to do things “right” according to you (example: where do you want the towel bar?).
The timeline is the most important part. All I hear from friends/family is that contractors are always late, or work based on their own personal schedules. But Remodel Works followed the schedule exactly, and there were no major surprises. Gil, the owner and the Project Manager visited throughout the process to make sure things were being done correctly and to my satisfaction.
This is a high class business with competitive pricing (for what you get), focused on making the customer happy by not forgetting about the details.

Palatin Remodeling comes highly recommended from my colleague when we were deciding to remodel two of our bathrooms. My colleague, a dermatologist, was so impressed by his experience with Palatin Remodeling
that he couldn’t stop saying good things about it.
We had already remodeled our kitchen five years ago and our stairwell a year ago, both projects ran over-budget and dragged on for months. Consequently, we are wary of initiating another remodeling project. Our original bathrooms were built in the 1970’s. The look was out-dated, and the lighting was inadequate. We had several goals in mind with the remodeling project–to maximize the use of space and to allow more natural light into the shower stall. The old shower stall was also cramped, making showering challenging.
The initial design consultation with Gil revealed his depth of knowledge and experience. His attention to detail is astonishing. He made several crucial suggestions that paid tremendous dividends in the final remodel.
Gil suggested to replace the existing vanity counter in the master bathroom to one that is shallower, which yielded more floor space in the bathroom. This has a significant impact in the remodeled master bathroom, making the entire room feel more spacious. Replacing the existing recess lighting in the master bathroom also improved the ambiance of the room at night.
We decided to knock down the dividing shower wall and replaced it with all glass partition. This allowed more light into the shower stall and also gave us several inches of space inside the shower. Having more elbow room in the stall makes showering a pleasure.
Most importantly, Gil’s design idea for my son’s bathroom gave my four-year-old son more independence. Navigating in the more spacious new bathroom, my son is able to use the bathroom all by himself. He is able to wash his hands, reach the towel rack, the soap, the vanity storage area without our assistance. Not only does this design free up our time, it also gives him great pride to be able to do things on his own. In fact, he really takes ownership of the bathroom because he participated in the design process. My son picked out the paint color for his own bathroom, and he loves the fact that his opinion matters.
Gil’s crew is equally impressive. Richie and his team always works with the highest professionalism. He is always mindful of the cleanliness of the surrounding during the remodeling, and the crew is courteous. The city inspector delayed the project by three days, at which time I thought the prospect of the remodeling finishing on-time is impossible. However, Richie and his crew were able to complete the project on-time. The workmanship is top-notch. I am quite obsessive about small details, and the end product even surpasses my expectation.
I told all my family and friends about my amazing experience with Palatin Remodeling. Gil and his company forever changed my perception about contractors and what is possible in a remodeling project.

Palatin came promptly and gave us a reasonable estimate. He is quite approachable, straightforward and knowledgeable. He helped us break down the scope of our project and provided us with a timetable and associated cost. That was a big relief to us!
In the end, we selected Advanced out of 3 contractors.
Gil is a serious, smart, nonsense and know-it-all contractor.
He kept our project moving, rain or shine, always stay a few steps ahead of curve. He worked seamlessly with our architect and structure engineers. He helped us to pass all inspections.
He tells you exactly as what the issue is, without any sugar coating. After we worked together, I would say he is one of the most honest person I met. At the end, he delivered a very beautiful remodeled house to us.

Having hired and been displeased with a previous contractor and remodeling experience, I was quite hesitant having to hire another contractor for another job, so I read a lot of reviews and met with several contractors before I decided to hire Gil. I am quite happy to say that I have nothing but good things to say about Gil and his company. He has been a pleasure to work with. He was very patient during the planning stage and worked with my husband and I until we were comfortable with all aspects of the contract. He did what he said he was going to do, answered questions promptly, did quality work, and completed the job within estimated timeframe. Gary is very friendly and professional – really an overall nice guy. We hired him to build a new garage, and then added a walkway and storage shelf because we were so pleased with his work and the way he handled all related matters. I highly recommend him for general contracting work and will definitely use him again for any future remodeling needs. I look forward to working with him again.

Thank you Gil and all Palatin stuff of making my new home remodeling so perfect, even with my low budget! It’s amazing to know that there are a few more people in that business with honesty and integrity. Now my new house has a new spoiling bathrooms and a wider hallway; hopefully in the future we will have also a kitchen remodel with those guys.

I had great experience with Gil and his crew of craftsmen. I had a very old kitchen that was in serious need of a complete overhaul.
I called and made an appointment and they showed up exactly when they said they would for estimation.
When the construction started Gil arrived every day to make sure everything doing well and perfect, and also let me know what was going on every day, including the whole inspection.
Gil doesn’t let anything to go by him until he is completely satisfied!
They did such a good job you’d never be able to tell this is an old house and that tile was removed and replaced. It looks perfect!
Another few things for praise;
* They arrived each morning when they said they would, and cleaned up every day.
*Gil answered each call or text I sent him even once at the weekend! I know I’m not the only customer but for sure he let me feel like one!
Thank you from me & my Hubby, for a newly better place to cook! love it!

I am so happy with Palatin Remodeling. I can not convay the satisfation I get or the feeling I get everytime I get home and see me new Kitchen and Bathhrooms. They did such a wonderful job, and it took no time at all. Thank you, Palatin Remodeling

Andrew M.

After going with a family friend for various remodeling projects over the years, I decided to go with a larger company to remodel one of our bathrooms because speed was of the essence. I received two bids and talked to three different companies, and the best bids were almost identical in cost and scope of the work. I decided to go with Palatin because the owner, Gil, spent considerably more time thinking about the bid and in the end came up with a vastly better layout using the space we had.
Gil uses all of his own employees, no subcontractors, and had good suggestions for companies to provide services that weren’t part of his bid (i.e. cabinetry and shower glass). Everything was completed on time, and everything looks great. Any complications and/or errors that routinely pop up during remodels were dealt with quickly and to our satisfaction. He was fair in his dealings with us and took an active interest in the project through to its completion.
One extremely important factor in my review was how well I could trust Gil and his crew. As I said, time was of the essence. In the middle of the project my family had to leave the house for about a week, and by that point I was completely comfortable leaving keys with them so they could continue while we were gone.
I highly recommend Palatin Remodeling!

I just finished my bathroom with Gil Palatin. I am very happy,
Whatever Gil said did happen!
I recommend this company, I know people’s looking for good contractor and I truly happy!!
